Door In The Dragon's Throat

I was approached a while ago to illustrate a couple of scenes from a book for a potential low budget movie pitch. Not sure if anything came of it though.

This is a scene from the start of the book where the Sheik shows the main characters what has been discovered in the desert - the dead area of land with the hole at the center, nicknamed "The Dragon's Throat"

I created the hole and surrounding desert in 3D in Lightwave to scale according to the book and rendered it out, then with that as scale reference, I painted over it in photoshop with a collage of still images from the web.

Dragon Heads

Here's a trio of unused dragon head designs I was working on recently in case they were needed - perhaps they will be at some point in the future, in which case I might get more time to refine them. All three were designed to replace the current head on a 3D model the company purchased a while ago. Also did a few designs for an "evil" Gryphon/Griffin going for a prehistoric bird of prey look instead of an eagle's head.
If I can get the time I am hoping to have a go at sculpting at least one of them in z-brush sometime soon.

Almighty Thor - Concept Art

Well, now that its finally been broadcast on the SyFy channel, I can reveal some of the concept art I did for the low budget "B movie" version of THOR, called ALMIGHTY THOR - starring Cody Deal, Richard Greico, Kevin Nash and Patricia Valasquez.

The first is the dog-like Garmr, which I initially tried to make really freaky looking with no eyes, big grin and patented "neck teeth". The producers sorta liked it, so I combined the features they liked with the bits they liked from another concept piece by Aaron Witlin - which was sort of like an armored bear to achieve the final approved design.

Next up is the Lind Wyrm, a sort of dragon creature typically depicted with only two arms. I decided to make the arms look really powerful, since it was always pulling itself around on them. After a few minor revisions the producers settled on the blue variant (Seen here with mouth in the open and closed positions)

Battle of Los Angeles

Some concept art I did for the recently broadcast Syfy channel original Battle of Los Angeles (Now available on DVD). Most of it went unused as the script and edit went through a multitude of revisions or other designs were chosen.
