Dragon Heads

Here's a trio of unused dragon head designs I was working on recently in case they were needed - perhaps they will be at some point in the future, in which case I might get more time to refine them. All three were designed to replace the current head on a 3D model the company purchased a while ago. Also did a few designs for an "evil" Gryphon/Griffin going for a prehistoric bird of prey look instead of an eagle's head.
If I can get the time I am hoping to have a go at sculpting at least one of them in z-brush sometime soon.

Almighty Thor - Concept Art

Well, now that its finally been broadcast on the SyFy channel, I can reveal some of the concept art I did for the low budget "B movie" version of THOR, called ALMIGHTY THOR - starring Cody Deal, Richard Greico, Kevin Nash and Patricia Valasquez.

The first is the dog-like Garmr, which I initially tried to make really freaky looking with no eyes, big grin and patented "neck teeth". The producers sorta liked it, so I combined the features they liked with the bits they liked from another concept piece by Aaron Witlin - which was sort of like an armored bear to achieve the final approved design.

Next up is the Lind Wyrm, a sort of dragon creature typically depicted with only two arms. I decided to make the arms look really powerful, since it was always pulling itself around on them. After a few minor revisions the producers settled on the blue variant (Seen here with mouth in the open and closed positions)

Battle of Los Angeles

Some concept art I did for the recently broadcast Syfy channel original Battle of Los Angeles (Now available on DVD). Most of it went unused as the script and edit went through a multitude of revisions or other designs were chosen.

DRAGON CONCEPTS

Drew a dragon jaw design that I quite liked, but wasn't sure how the jaw would look as I had a couple of different approaches in mind. Luckily with the modern wonder of photoshop, and a scanner, I was able to whip out both concepts very quickly...
Still not sure which one I like better though!

MEGASHARK

MEGASHARK vs CROCOSAUR

The sequel to the cult viral direct to DVD movie is in production. I thought the model for the original shark was more than a little lame, so I decided to have a go at doing some concept art for it... this was a quicky - the shark needs more scarring and whatnot (The small great white is not mine but I added it in to give a sense of scale). Worked up a 3D model of it, but have not had time to finish it further.

Barracuda Buck$

Well folks, here's three test images I did this week. Drew them by hand then retraced the artwork in Adoe Illustrator and then took them into Adobe Photoshop to do the finishing touches.
I like the first two but was not so happy with the "BONUS!" one.

Mass Effect 3: Volus Female Concept

Just had to do another one...
Here is My concept of a Volus female - a species that evolved in a high pressure environment with an alien atmosphere. Therefore the species has evolved a strong exoskeleton with a bare minimum of exposed flesh only at the necessary joints. Their internal organs all exert an outward force, helping to support the exoskeleton and resist the high pressure of their world.
In a human safe atmosphere, the Volus must wear pressure suits or they would depressurize - exploding from the inside out.
